Umhverfing, 2022.&nbsp; Fremsti partur Staðarfjalls heitir Maríuhorn. Sagnir herma að þar hafi verið færðar fórnir í heiðnum sið og má leiða líkum að því að ein gyðja hafi rekið við af annarri. Frá fornu fari hétu menn á Maríuhorn, einkum sjómenn. Áheitin hafa gengið til Maríukirkju á Stað, en kirkjan er helguð Maríu guðsmóður.&nbsp; Annar hluti verksins er staðsettur á Maríualtarinu á tindi Maríuhorns. Stórhættulegt er að vitja verksins og ekki er mælt með að reyna það.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; The tip of Mt. Staðarfjall is called Maríuhorn, Pinnacle of Mary. Legend has it that it was a place of sacrifice in heathen times and one can speculate that one goddess took the place of another. Sailors would call on the Pinnacle of Mary for rescue on the sea and give money to Maríukirkja, Church of Virgin Mary in Staður, if they survived.&nbsp; One part of the work is placed on the Altar of Mary on Maríuhorn pinnacle. What used to be in her nucleus - iron, sulphur, silicone, magnesium, neon and oxygen - got splattered on her surface and is now nowhere to be found in her nucleus. An inside out planet, with her nucleus spread over her surface. Varla neitt, en samt eitthvað. Mig langaði að snúa þessu á rönguna, láta litina af núllinu renna út á rammann og hafa þessa nánast ósýnilegu eftirmynd af núllinu inni í rammanum. Svo gufaði vatnið allt upp svo það sléttist úr blaðinu og eftir það varð ekkert af engu.&nbsp; &nbsp; When I painted this birthday candle, the zero, the next page in my pad got wet so it swelled up. A swell shaped like a zero. Hardly anything, yet something. I watned to turn this inside out, let the colours of the zero slide out onto the frame and have this almost invisible afterimage of the zero inside the frame. Þetta er hálfgerður kindastígur og ég ríf af leirnum og læt hann detta á jörðina. Man þá að mögulega var ég að leita að lambi. Mig langar að segja „leita lambs“ því mér leiðast svo óþarfa forsetningar og mig langar að njóta fallbeygingarinnar, en það misskilst sem uppskrúfað. Ég gjóa augunum til hliðar, sé lambið hvergi, en veit af því hvítu og krulluðu á skjálfandi spýtulöppunum. Það getur skakklappast hvert sem er og vonlaust fyrir mig að ætla að elta það. Smalastúlkan sest niður felur andlitið í höndum sér óhuggandi, óhugsandi. Ég veit ekki hvað langur tími líður en hann er nógu langur til þess að hún verði að mynd: óhugsandi, óhuggandi. Lambið bröltir með framlappirnar í kjöltu hennar, dindilinn sperrtan og mænir blíðlega á hana í huggun. Enn betri mynd. Þessi er kjörin til stækkunar en ég veit ekki hvað ég á að gera, því ég er þau bæði, lambið og smalastúlkan. Ég fann aldrei neitt. Enda var það kannski aldrei meiningin. Ég fann svo skýrt fyrir öllu þessu sem var falið og týnt og handan við hólinn. Það var eins og ég héldi því í lófunum. Braut svo pappírinn og stillti honum upp á gólfinu í salnum og bað hann að vera til. Hann horfði á mig og spurði hvort ég væri að grínast. Ég vissi það ekki, sagðist halda ekki og stuggaði við honum með stjörnuljósi. This is Our First and Last Work Get in position. Adjust the position. This is our first and last work. But then the phone rings and you have to solve some 3D problem. I sent you out on the street because I couldn’t think of anything else but it didn’t bring me the calm I’d hoped for. Now I need clay. Something to knead and absorb what matters everything. Or the other stuff which is in the way, clouding my vision. This is a sheep path of sorts and I tear a piece off the clay and drop it on the ground. Then I remember I may have been searching for a lamb. I look to the sides, can’t see the lamb anywhere but know it is there, white and curly on trembling, bony legs. It can stagger anywhere. Hopeless for me to go following it. The shepherdess sits down and hides her face in her hands, inconsolable, inconceivable. I don’t know how long has passed, but it’s long enough for her to become an image: Inconceivable, inconsolable. The lamb clambers into her lap with its front legs, its tail erect and its eyes staring tenderly at her in consolation. An even better image. Ideal for enlarging, but I don’t know what to do for I am both of them, the lamb and the shepherdess. I never found anything. Perhaps that was never even the intention. I could feel so clearly all that was hidden and lost and beyond the hill. It was as if I held it in the palms of my hands. Then I folded the paper, positioned it on the floor of the gallery and asked it to exist. It looked at me and asked if I was kidding. stundum er sagt með blíðum rómi að raunar sé alls ekkert myrkur til. kannski bara skortur á ljósi. þetta er afneitun á tilvist myrkursins. það dimmir bara um stundarsakir. í því skammtímaástandi búum við okkur til ljósbólur. þegar gengið er um borg á vetrarkvöldi eru húsin ljósmiðjur. utanfrá sjáum við að frá einni borg stafar geislabaugi. ljósmengun. ofar á himninum er kolniðamyrkur. svo kemur birtan alltaf aftur ... já, en geislar sólarinnar drífa ekki endalaust. sólin er bara enn ein ljósbólan í alheiminum. myrkrið, það er flæmi sem breiðist um allt og umlykur allar afmörkuðu ljósbólurnar. þegar við snúum okkur undan sólu opnast hliðið inn í stórt umfaðmandi myrkrið. við rennum inn í það og snertum við ytri mörkum alls. Þetta er allt og sumt, hvorki meira né minna. Rýmið. Fyllir upp í rýmið. Skúlptúr sem fyllir upp í rýmið. Eðli málsins samkvæmt er aðeins hægt að horfa á það utan frá. Það er ekki pláss fyrir áhorfendur þar inni því listaverkið fyllir upp í rýmið. En það er svo sem ekki málið, að úthýsa áhorfandanum. Ég þarf bara á því að halda að fylla rýmið. Láta skúlptúrinn þenjast út og hníga svo. Og sjá bilið á milli, þegar hann hnígur, fyllir næstum upp í rýmið. Að sjá hann fylla næstum upp í rýmið framkallar það þegar hann fyllir upp í það. Treðst út í gluggann. Þrýstist upp að hurðinni. Af hverju er mér ekki sama um það? Er þetta eitthvað leiðindavesen með eðli sýningarrýmisins? Eða hefur þetta bara almennt með rými og ytri mörk vs. innra rými að gera? Og hvað með það? Ytri mörk, að fara alveg upp að þeim og hopa aðeins til að finna betur fyrir þeim. Þetta hefur að gera með bilið þarna á milli, þegar slakinn sýnir þetta litla pláss sem eftir er. Og er svo fyllt. En hvaða tilfinning fylgir því að horfa á þetta? Fullnægja og kannski smá tómleiki, samt ekki. Ég vildi gjarnan heyra í honum krumpast og þenjast, aðallega snarkið þegar hann hnígur niður. Ertu að reyna að sýna mér eitthvað? Sýna mér hvað þú getur? Þú ert gylltur, glitrandi, rísandi, hnígandi, þenjandi, andandi, til. Þetta geturðu; álteppi, límband, loft. Álteppi, límband, loft. Potential. Fulfill your potential. Fulfill &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Uppfylltu Fulfill. &nbsp;&nbsp; Uppfylla. Uppfylltu ósk mína, uppfylltu ósk þína. Fylltu upp í allt sem þú getur. Nei annars, það er óþarfi. En fylltu upp í þetta rými. Ég veit ekki hvort það er myndhverfing fyrir eitthvað annað. Þú getur orðið stór, þanist út úr næstum engu. Uppfylltu eitthvað. Fulfill me. Fulfill your potential. Fulfill someones wish. Uppfylltu lágmarkskröfur, uppfylltu öryggisskilyrði. Hnígðu svo niður, en bara að hluta til. Bara nóg til að sýna að þetta er ekki sjálfsagt. Til að við gleymum ekki bilinu á milli, muninum á því þegar þú uppfyllir allt og þegar þú gerir það ekki. En hvaða máli skiptir það? Uppfyllt. Þanin. Að springa, ekki beint. Þeta er ekkert dramatískt. Mögulega kannski ljóðrænt, en ég veit ekki einu sinni með það. En kannski snýst þetta meira um hreyfinguna, að verða stór úr einhverju svona litlu. Against all odds. Að sigrast á einhverju. Koma inn með einn plastpoka með smá dóti og fylla rýmið.
